PBMS participates in pan-European raptor collections initiative

This week, members of the PBMS team attended this week a meeting organised by the working group on ‘Progress towards a distributed European Raptor Specimen Bank (ERSpeB) of the European Raptor Biomonitoring Facility. The two-day online event discussed recent achievements of the ERBFacility to work towards enhancing the value of Natural History Museum (NHM) collections, and other specimen collections, for the purposes of monitoring exposure to and effects of pollutants in raptors.

“This was a fascinating meeting bringing together museum curators and ecotoxicologists” comments Lee Walker, principal investigator for the PBMS. “It was clear from the presentations and discussions that there is a great potential for  NHM collections to contribute to ecotoxicological studies.”
