On the 8th July, the PBMS team held its annual stakeholder meeting with it external funders (Natural England and The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use-CRRU). Dr Liz Chadwick (Cardiff University Otter Project), a key collaborator, also attended.
We discussed work completed in the last 18 months and potential plans in the current year.
Highlights of completed work included: the latest findings on rodenticide residues in red kites (to be published on this website in the next month) and barn owls; peer-reviewed publications (accessible through our publications webpage) reporting the outcomes of specific studies; our diverse collaborations that includes a range of disease screening activities in collaboration with colleagues in the GB Wildlife Disease Surveillance Partnership.
In the current year, the PBMS will continue its work monitoring rodenticide contamination in red kites and barn owls. We will also complete our work to make available (through our website) real-time health index measurements our main study species.
