Come meet the PBMS team at Birdfair 2016

We are pleased to announce that the PBMS team will be at the Birdfair 2016 at Egleton, Rutland to talk about the work of the scheme and how the public can contribute to protecting predatory birds from chemical risk. We’ll be there all weekend (19th to 21st August) and we’re looking forward to meeting keen birders and potential contributors to the scheme.

On our stall (Stand 33,  Marquee 8) you’ll be able to find out why the scheme is so important, how it works, and how you can contribute and help protect raptors from the impacts of pollutants.

“This will be the first time that the PBMS team has attended such an event. We’re used to presenting the findings of our work at academic conferences or briefing government on the levels of pollutants in wildlife” says Lee Walker, coordinator for the PBMS, who adds “As a citizen science project that relies on members of public taking the time to post birds to us for examination, it is vital that we promote awareness of the scheme to as many people as possible”

“We are hoping that by engaging with attendees at the Birdfair we’ll be able to recruit not only enthusiastic contributors to the scheme but also ambassadors who will tell as many people as possible about our work and how they can help.”
