Representatives of the PBMS team recently attended the Government Oversight Group (GOG) annual meeting for the Rodenticide Stewardship Scheme (RSS) hosted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) at Redgrave Court, Liverpool on the 5th December.
The PBMS provides residue monitoring data, and advice on the interpretation of such data, for second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) in barn owls, the principal measure of the RSS of whether it’s aim to reduce SGAR exposure in wildlife is being met.
The GOG brings together the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use and the HSE who operate and oversee the RSS, respectively. In addition, the GOG also includes representatives of governmental conservation bodies and scientific experts such as UKCEH.
