We note with interest The Wildlife Society (America and Canada) story about analysis of liver tissue samples from dead California condors revealing that a large portion of the giant raptors have consumed carcasses that contain second generation anticoagulant rodenticides.
Rodenticides are a focus for the PBMS. We monitor these biocides in red kite and barn owls and our results inform a Stewardship Scheme in the UK.
