WILDCOMS, a collaborative network formed among various UK-based vertebrate wildlife surveillance schemes, has recently published their latest newsletter, Issue 34, Autumn 2024.
The WILDCOMS newsletter reports recent newsworthy information, scientific publications from member partners, and items of interest about wildlife ecology from the UK and overseas. The latest newsletter spotlights the scientific topic from Cardiff University about per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also called “forever chemical”, observed in the liver of Eurasian otters (Lutra lutra) in the UK. The PBMS also publicised our events last year in this newsletter: the new PBMS website, our podcast about PFASs, and a workshop we hosted with Malaysian collaborators focussing on chemical threats to elephants in Borneo.
