PBMS visits Natural England to discuss priorities

Richard Shore and Lee Walker recently met with members of Natural England’s Ecotoxicology team at a knowledge exchange workshop on Chemical Effects in the Environment. The aims of the meeting were to:-

  • share current policy drivers for work involving toxic substances/pesticides/chemicals,
  • understand current work on toxic substances in both NE and CEH, and
  • explore opportunities to benefit from each other’s current or future planned work.

Richard Shore tells us “It was a very useful opportunity to discuss with our colleagues in Natural England the knowledge and data they need to implement the initiatives and strategies they are focussed on in the coming year. What was obvious from the meeting was that the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology operate monitoring programmes and produce a wide range of datasets that will be useful to Natural England to address the UK’s 25 year plan to improve the environment
