The PBMS is helping a study conducted by Natural Power (https://www.naturalpower.com/) on behalf of their client to monitor the environmental impact at a recently constructed wind farm in Stirlingshire, Scotland. As part of these studies Natural Power are conducting carcass searches at the site. However, it is essential to determine carcass removal rates by scavengers. Red kite has been identified as one of the key species potentially at risk of collision at the wind farm and buzzard is regarded as an appropriate proxy for red kite for carcass removal rate trials. Therefore the PBMS agreed to provide previously examined carcasses for use in these trials.
