Covid doesn’t halt progress on European raptor monitoring

The covid-19 situation may currently limit our ability to travel, but the PBMS team have still been participating in a workshop organised by the European Raptor Biomonitoring Facility (ERBFacility). The three-day online event discussed recent achievements of the ERBFacility to work towards a proof of concept for the use of pan-raptor monitoring to inform chemicals management and regulation.

“The three days were long, intense but very rewarding” comments Lee Walker, coordinator for the PBMS. “Discussions ranged from the practicalities of setting up a network of national contacts to assess capacity to gather and analyse samples for pollutants, through species specific guidance on population monitoring, to providing essential advice to potential contributors to these efforts. The PBMS is proud to act as the national contact for ERBFacility in the UK.”
