Barn owl rodenticide report supports assessment of the effectiveness of the rodenticide stewardship programme

The monitoring data for rodenticide residues in barn owls, which we reported recently (click here), were reviewed last week by the Government Oversight Group that oversees the Stewardship programme for Anticoagulant Rodenticides.

“These data are key for assessing if stewardship is reducing unintentional exposure of wildlife to rodenticides” says Richard Shore, Principal Investigator for the PBMS. “The collection of barn owl bodies through the PBMS underpins this work and we are grateful to all the members of the public who send in carcasses”.

The PBMS news will post a link to the latest UK Rodenticide Stewardship Regime annual report when it is published. Reports for earlier years ca be found here.
