Cold snap leads to busy week for PBMS

Following the snow and cold weather over the previous two weeks, the PBMS had a busy time last week with 15 birds submitted to the scheme.

“This time of year is one of our peak times for submissions to the PBMS. However last week we received an exceptionally high number of birds” Lee Walker, the coordinator for the scheme, comments further “We might expect that many of these birds may have struggled to find prey in the snowy conditions. Each bird we receive will be given a post mortem examination the results of which will be sent to the contributor so that they receive feedback on the bird.”

If you would like to submit a bird to the scheme please go to our “How to send us a dead bird” page.
